The Mandalorian Season 2 to Debut on Disney+ on October 30

By Julie Catherine

Disney and Lucasfilm announced today that new episodes of The Mandalorian will debut on Disney+ on Friday October 30th. The highly anticipated second season of the series was previously rumored to be released in early October, but this news indicates that the show is debuting a few weeks later than initially thought of.

Coupled with the announcement on Disney+‘s Twitter account is a new promotional image of The Mandalorian, featuring Din Djarin and The Child traversing, what looks like, a new planet to the series. With eight weeks to go until more Mandalorian comes our way, we expect that additional promotional material will be released soon, including a much discussed teaser trailer potentially featuring the live-action debut of Ahsoka Tano.

The second season of The Mandalorian is once again set to star Pedro Pascal as the titular character, alongside returning favorites Gina Carano as Cara Dune and Carl Weathers as Greef Karga. New additions to the show, as reported by various trade outlets, include Michael Biehn, Timothy Olyphant, Temuera Morrison, and Rosario Dawson, amongst others. While Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Rick Famuyiwa are once again directing episodes of the show, executive producer and writer Jon Favreau will finally step into the director’s seat this season. Other new additions to the directorial team include Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez, and Greef Karga himself Carl Weathers.
