March is set to be a big month for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the premiere of Moon Knight in a few weeks time. Anticipation is high for the Oscar Isaac-led series, which also features Ethan Hawke in a villainous role. Before the first episode of Moon Knight, though, MCU fans were treated to even more today with the release of the new trailer for Ms. Marvel, which fans can find above.
Ms. Marvel stars Kamala Khan, a new and groundbreaking character to this ever-expanding universe. Kamala is described as a Muslim-American teenager growing up in Jersey City, who is also a super-fan of the heroes of her world, particularly Captain Marvel. Khan idolizes Captain Marvel, yet feels unseen at school and in her whole life until she gets super powers.
Ms. Marvel is set to arrive on fans’ screens this summer following today’s announcement of a June 8, 2022 release date. The series is confirmed to have six episodes, the same amount as Loki and Moon Knight.
Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel. Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha are also set to appear in the series.
Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy shared directing duties across the six episodes, which were overseen by head writer Bisha K. Ali, who is also an executive producer alongside Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso.
