Anticipation for Obi-Wan Kenobi has ramped up in recent days with the release of the first trailer for the show, which showed Ewan McGregor’s return to the iconic role as well as new looks at the Grand Inquistor, his accomplice Reva, and a brief glimpse at a young version of Luke Skywalker himself.
With this trailer came official confirmation that Grant Feely, who’s only previous acting credit was an episode of AMC and Shudder’s Creepshow, would be playing Luke in the series. Feely joins an exclusive club of performers to take on the role of Luke, with only a handful of actors portraying the Jedi in live action and animation. Feely’s casting was addressed by Mark Hamill, the actor who played Luke Skywalker in six films ranging from A New Hope in 1977 to The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, and even on Disney+ with The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

Hamill, as wholesome as ever, have Feely a warm welcome on Twitter:
“Grant Feely looks like a perfect Luke Skywalker. I am wishing him all the very best! #TheForceIsWithFeely.”
Feely does resemble a younger version of Mark Hamill, so it seems like great casting, especially if the original Luke Skywalker is on board.
