The long-awaited follow-up to Batman: Arkham Knight is due to release later this year, but now only on next-generation consoles. WB Games Montreal recently released a statement about changes behind the scenes that will mean the video game Gotham Knights will not release on Xbox One and PS4 as initially planned.

“To provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles.”

Gotham Knights follows versions of Robin and Batgirl, amongst other heroes, as they tackle a threat to the city of Gotham following the death of Batman. After being announced in 2020, relatively little has been shown of the new DC video game…until now that is.

WB Games Montreal released a thrilling new gameplay demo showcasing the sort of things gamers can get up to when they become vigilantes of Gotham in the new game.
