A new look at Thor: Love and Thunder debuted during Game 4 of the NBA play-offs and delivered with stunning imagery, witty dialogue, and interesting Easter eggs!
For starters, perhaps the highlight of the trailer is seeing Christian Bale’s villainous Gorr the God Butcher for the first time. Leaked promotional images didn’t give the character’s design justice as Bale looks terrifying as the villain.
Gorr’s use of the Godbomb can be briefly seen in the trailer.
Thor has a tattoo reading “RIP Loki” on his back!
Russell Crowe appears as Zeus in the comical tag at the end of the trailer.
Another point in the trailer shows Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie wielding a Zeus lightning bolt in a battle against Gorr.
The Living Tribunal is referenced in the background. This is not the first time the role of the Living Tribunal has been hinted at in the MCU, after teases in Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The Guardians of the Galaxy can be briefly seen in several shots of the trailer.
Thor: Love and Thunder is in theaters July 8.
