The first trailer for Black Adam, the newest DC superhero film, has finally debuted.
Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson as an all-mighty anti-hero that is predicted to change the power structure of the DC Universe forever. The film follows Johnson’s character 5,000 years after he was imprisoned while in possession of incredible powers. Freed from his captivity, Black Adam aims to actualize his own brand of justice.
In the comics, Black Adam is Shazam’s sworn enemy. Originally, the character was supposed to appear in 2019’s Shazam!, but this did not come to fruition. The Zachary Levi-led superhero franchise sees its second installment, Shazam: Fury of the Gods, release on December 21, 2022.
Black Adam will also introduce the Justice Society of America, including Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Rounding out the supporting cast are Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer. and Uli Latukefu.
The film comes from Warner Bros., DC Entertainment, New Line Cinema, Flynn Picture Company, and Seven Bucks Production. It is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, known for Orphan and Non-Stop.
