Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was re-released in IMAX this weekend and has now become one of the highest grossing films released in this premium format.
The Star Wars spin-off was released in December 2016 and met with rave critical and fan reception. In its original theatrical run, Rogue One earned over $1 billion. After grossing an impressive $1 million with this re-release (with a weekend-best $4,313 per-theater average), Rogue One is now among some of the highest grossing IMAX films of all time.

The re-release of Rogue One is accompanied with a special preview of Andor, the upcoming Star Wars debuting on Disney+ next month. Andor tells the story of rebel hero Cassian Andor, who later sacrifices himself as he and the Rogue One team steal the plans to the Death Star. Andor’s first season premieres on September 21 and will tell the story of Cassian joining the Rebellion before the events of Rogue One.
The HoloFiles’ initial coverage of Andor, including a round table interview with Diego Luna, can be found here.
