‘Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’ Has Interesting Connection to 2003 Clone Wars Series

By Josh Bate & George Bate

The latest adventure with Cal Kestis, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, will arrive in just a few weeks on April 28. With the new Star Wars game right around the corner, more details are being revealed about the mysterious story.

IGN reports that one of the trailers for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor features a Gen’dai as one of the game’s primary antagonists. The Gen’dai were an all-powerful and seemingly immortal species that appeared in various Star Wars Legends / Expanded Universe stories. The most notable Gen’dai in the galaxy is Durge, who played a memorable role in Genndy Tartakovsky’s 2003 series Star Wars: Clone Wars.

The Gen’dai in Jedi: Survivor is not Durge, however, but a new character named Rayvis. Durge has recently been included in Star Wars canon, as he featured in Alyssa Wong’s Doctor Aphra comic series.

Although it’s been 20 years since Star Wars: Clone Wars aired, the series lives long in the hearts of my Star Wars fans and continues to pop up in interesting ways throughout the saga.
