With summer soon transitioning into autumn, a galaxy far, far away continues to expand with a number of new releases. Below includes a list and description of upcoming Star Wars projects in the month of August 2024. It is important to note that all of these release dates are subject to change.
August 1 – Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (Remastered)

Originally released in 2002, the classic video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is remastered and re-released this month. The story serves as a prequel to Attack of the Clones and details how Jango Fett become the template for the clone troopers of the Republic.
August 2 – Young Jedi Adventures shorts
Enjoy several shorts from the world of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures ahead of the premiere of Season 2 on August 14.
August 7 – Inquisitors 2
The Fifth Brother takes centerstage in the second issue of Rodney Barnes’ Inquisitors comic series for Marvel Comics. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “DARTH VADER SENDS FIFTH BROTHER ON A MISSION TO KILL A JEDI LEGEND!
The EMPEROR has had most of the JEDI exterminated after the events of ORDER 66! Some have escaped!
THE INQUISITORS are charged with hunting the survivors down.
But there is one, a knight named TENSU RUN, who is on DARTH VADER’S most-wanted list!
Who is Tensu Run, and what threat does he pose to the DARK LORD?”
August 7 – The High Republic 10
The 10th and final issue of this run of High Republic comics arrives this August. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “JEDI LOST AND JEDI FOUND!
The team-shattering FINALE of the current blistering run!
A choice given, and a decision made…with terrifying consequences.”
August 7 – The High Republic Adventures 8
This new comic from writer Daniel José Older and artists Harvey Tolibao and Michael Atiyeh is teased to be “the most shocking chapter of the High Republic saga yet.” The publisher’s summary is as follows: “Everything is about to change! As Lula, Zeen, and their friends approach Eriadu, they are attacked by Nihil fighters. Will the hope of a Republic resistance be shot down? Meanwhile, on the other side of the galaxy, events are unfolding that will surprise the Jedi and the Nihil and alter the course of their galactic battle!”
August 13 – The High Republic: The Edge of Balance, Vol. 3
The third volume in the excellent High Republic manga series drops this month. The publisher’s summary for the new manga, with a story of Shima Shinya and Daniel José Older and art by Miuki Sakakibara, is as follows: “It is the era of the High Republic and Republic expansion is at its height. As trusted guardians of peace, the renowned Jedi protect the Republic and shine their light on those exploring the darkest reaches of the galaxy.
The destruction of Starlight Beacon also destroys the peace once protected by the great Jedi of the High Republic Era. In the year since Jedi Knight Lily Tora-Asi defied the Council’s order to return to Coruscant, the Nihil continued to storm through the galaxy, advancing in from the Outer Rim and expanding their territory. Despite the encroaching Stormwall, Lily stands her ground and reestablishes Banchii’s Jedi Temple. August 14 – Darth Vader 49
The penultimate issue of Greg Pak’s Darth Vader comic series for Marvel Comics hits shelves this August. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “‘IMPERIAL SCHISM’ NEARS ITS THRILLING CLIMAX!
LUKE SKYWALKER faces the full might of the SCHISM IMPERIAL!

August 14 – Young Jedi Adventures Season Two
Season 2 of Young Jedi Adventures premieres August 14 on Disney+ and Disney Jr.
August 20 – Star Wars: Mace Windu – The Twilight Run
This new trade paperback collects all four issues of Marc Bernardin and Georges Jeanty’s Mace Windu comic series (plus story 4 from Revelations 1). The publisher’s summary is as follows: “One of the greatest Jedi Knights of all, Mace Windu, stars in his own comic book series!
Even in the years before the Clone Wars, Mace Windu was known for his discipline, determination and combat skills. August 20 – Star Wars Insider 227
The latest issue of Star Wars Insider features a look at Ezra Bridger’s journey, an all-new High Republic story, a top ten feature showcasing the major events and battles in Rex’s life, an interview with a food scientist about why blue milk is so prevalent in Star Wars, an examination of how Disney+ shows have expanded established planets like Tatooine and Coruscant, and more.
August 21 – Star Wars 49
Charles Soule continues a Leia-focused arc from issue 48 with issue 49 of his comic series. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “LEIA AND THE REBEL ALLIANCE!
The last remnants of ALDERAAN have come under threat from an old enemy!
LUKE SKYWALKER and LEIA ORGANA could save these few survivors of the destroyed planet, but the Princess of Alderaan must choose between her people…and the REBEL ALLIANCE itself!”
August 21 – The High Republic Adventures 9
Another issue of The High Republic Adventures is due to release this month. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “Zeen, Lula, and their team are looking for allies to join the battle against the dastardly Nihil. Their search leads them to an audience with the Founding Families of Eriadu. But Marchion Ro’s accomplices in the capital city won’t make things easy!

August 27 – The High Republic: Beware the Nameless
Zoraida Córdova has written a new middle grade novel set during the High Republic era. The upcoming Phase III release hits shelves August 27. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “’The High Republic continues in this fast-paced adventure that picks up from Escape from Valo, perfect for fans of sci-fi action. Think Sailor Moon meets Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting by way of Star Wars…with a dash of Last Kids on Earth!

August 27 – Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Volume 1 (Phase III)
Those who have missed out on the weekly releases of The High Republic Adventures can catch up with this collection compiling issues 1-5. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “Hundreds of years before the Skywalker Saga, there was The High Republic! The final phase of this groundbreaking story starts here, as the forces of light and life battle against the villainous Nihil!

August 28 – Ahsoka 2
The comic book adaptation of the Disney+ series Ahsoka continues this month. The publisher’s summary for the second issue is as follows: “TOIL AND TROUBLE!
AHSOKA and GENERAL HERA SYNDULLA travel to NEW REPUBLIC shipyards and make an unexpected discovery. The adaptation of the hit Disney+ series continues!”
August 30 – Star Wars Outlaws
The very first Star Wars open world video game releases this August. Outlaws, which will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and has the player take on the role as Kay Vess, a scoundrel navigating the tricky criminal underworld.
