The trailer for the next live-action Star Wars series Skeleton Crew premiered at D23 and was released to the public simultaneously. Watch the trailer below…

Check out our breakdown of all the easter eggs, hidden details, and references in the Skeleton Crew trailer below….
Skeleton Crew appears to feature the most Earth-like planet in Star Wars to date. The streets, houses, and vehicles look like a Star Wars spin on a typical suburban town in the U.S.
The children’s teacher in the show is played by Kerry Condon. The Irish actress played Stacey Ehrmantraut in Better Call Saul, was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in The Banshees of Inisherin, and voiced F.R.I.D.A.Y. in various MCU projects.
Text in the trailer reminds us that the series is created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford. Watts directed all three installments of the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy, whereas Ford wrote the screenplay for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
A better look at the adorable Neel character is provided in the trailer. Although it is unconfirmed, it appears that Neel is an Ortolan, the same species as Max Rebo.
Another shot of the home planet in Skeleton Crew looks even more like American suburbia. This aligns with what Jude Law and others have said about the show leaning into Amblin influences like The Goonies and E.T.
One of the children watches a video of a green lightsaber-wielding Jedi facing off against a big monster.
The kids believe they stumble across a lost Jedi Temple. This discovery seemingly sets them on a path in which they are transported off their home planet to far reaches of a galaxy far, far away.
Jawas, the little creatures who first appeared in the original Star Wars, are seen in the trailer.
An owl-like species is spotted in the trailer. This isn’t the first time owl-like creatures have appeared in Star Wars (convores like Morai previously appeared in Rebels).
Our best look yet at pirate droid SM-33 is provided in the trailer. SM-33 is voiced by Nick Frost, known for his roles in Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead.
A Shistavanen is spotted in the trailer. This werewolf-like species first appeared in A New Hope. The most notable Shistavanen arguably is Voolvif Monn, the wolfman Jedi in the original Clone Wars series.
X-Wings appear in the trailer, seemingly confirming that the New Republic will play a role in the series.
The trailer concludes with our first official look at Jude Law’s character Jod Na Nawood. Law’s character is seen using the Force to bring keys to him to help him escape a prison cell. Law previously described the character as a quick-thinker, who uses his charm to get out of different scenarios. One of the characters suggests that Nawood is a Jedi, but we think there’s more than meets the eye to his character. He may be Force sensitive, although we don’t think he is a Jedi…
