Newly Discovered ‘Ahsoka’ Easter Egg Teases Season 2 Plot

Ahsoka season 2

One year after Ahsoka premiered on Disney+ and fans have finally cracked a hidden message in the show that teases what’s to come in Season 2.

A fan on Reddit managed to translate runes in the chamber on Arcana, the planet Ahsoka finds the map to Peredia on, from the ancient Sith language ur-Kittât. The full translation of what the runes say are as follows…

THREE THERE WERE WHO MADE THE JOURNEY, WITHOUT WHOSE KNOWLEDGE THERE IS NO RETURNING. A PATHWAY CONNECTING NEAR AND FAR, ACROSS THE HEAVENS STAR TO STAR. DESPITE GREAT POWERS WHICH DO OBJECT, THIS SECRET WAY THE THREE PROTECT. SO HEED THE PATH WITH A WATCHFUL EYE, FOR IF YOU WANDER YOU WILL DIE.

On the surface, the message is abstract and rather ambiguous, but there’s a number of possible interpretations. The ‘three’ that the text refers to could be the Mortis gods, immensely powerful beings who influence the Force in the galaxy. The series concluded with Baylan Skoll looking upon massive statues of the Mortis gods, who first appeared in The Clone Wars and were referenced in Rebels, suggesting that Season 2 will likely explore these characters in great depth.

The ‘pathway connecting near and far,’ meanwhile, could be a reference to the World Between Worlds. This ethereal plane that exists outside of space and time debuted in Rebels, before appearing in Ahsoka when the titular character confronted her old master Anakin Skywalker. Is Baylan Skoll looking for an entrance to the World Between Worlds – just like Palpatine was trying to do in Rebels

The line, ‘What I seek is the beginning, so I may finally bring this cycle to an end’ is also quite telling. The World Between Worlds exists in a plane independent of time and is pretty much the closest thing to time travel in the Star Wars universe. Ezra Bridger, for instance, was able to rescue Ahsoka Tano from the clutches of Darth Vader by entering the World Between Worlds and manipulating events from the past. This line on the rune about seeking the beginning could suggest a desire to access the World Between Worlds for the purpose of changing past events, or at least manipulating time somehow.

All of this is mere speculation at this point, but the fact that fans are still uncovering hidden details from Ahsoka over one year after the series premiered is really neat. This translation provides even more evidence that Season 2 of the show will explore the Mortis gods and the World Between Worlds, which gets us all the more excited for the sophomore season of Dave Filoni’s Disney+ series.

Ahsoka Season 2 is currently in development by Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm. Filoni is also developing his own Star Wars movie, described as a cross-over of different characters and stories set during the era of The Mandalorian.
