It’s a trailer for a Star Wars show, which means The HoloFiles and Star Wars Holocron are here for a comprehensive breakdown and analysis of the trailer, including all of its hidden details and easter eggs.
Firstly, make sure you check out the trailer for Andor Season 2 below….

Now let’s dive into our analysis of the trailer, including our breakdown of any hidden details and easter eggs we picked up on.
The first shot of the trailer shows Cassian Andor from behind. He is wearing a long blue jacket and has his slicked back hair, which is shown more clearly in the final shot of the trailer. Various shots of this trailer seem to be taken from a sequence or episode involving some kind of rebel plot at a public gathering. This seemingly involves Cassian dressing up and, as footage from Celebration 2023 showed, has him collaborate with fan-favorite Brasso again.
Also, as pet lovers, we love to see the woman walking the dog-like creatures on the side of the screen here.
Another shot from behind shows Cassian wearing a neat brown jacket. This appears to be the same jacket he wears on the cover of Empire Magazine, when the film and television magazine spotlighted Andor Season 2 last autumn.

Yet another shot of Cassian waking from behind shows the character with a new outfit and haircut. This makes sense given that Andor Season 2 will be set over the course of four years, separated into four separate three-episode blocks, each depicting a few days of a year. Likely these shots from the Season 2 trailer are coming from different episode blocks.
We’re not exactly sure who this character is who shoots the Imperial officer, but something tells us this is Vel Sartha, Mon Mothma’s sister and fellow rebel played by Faye Marsay. Regardless, from footage shown at Celebration Europe and D23 2024, we know that Vel is back in Season 2.
This next shot shows Cassian Andor on Yavin 4, the home to the rebel base that debuted in the original Star Wars. Of note, Cassian appears to be wearing the same jacket that he wears at the beginning of Rogue One on the Ring of Kafrene here. It’s been previously confirmed that Season 2 will directly lead into the events of Rogue One, so this shot is likely from the final block of episodes.
Other shots from the trailer take place in a field. Stormtroopers appear to be chasing after someone. From behind, it’s hard to tell who this is. But it could be Wilmon Paak. This character appeared in Season 1 in a small, yet impactful role. His father was killed by the Empire on Ferrix and his look up at Maarva’s speech in the Season 1 finale was heartbreaking and goosebumps-inducing. In footage shown at Celebration Europe, Wilmon Paak was confirmed to appear in Season 2 (and seemingly will play a bigger role this season). Also, a shot from a Disney+ preview depicts Wilmon Paak and Bix Calleen in a similar setting as this.

Cassian seems to come and save the day of this fleeing character (possibly Wilmon Paak) by launching a missile at a stormtrooper transporter.
At this point in the trailer, it becomes clear that the song playing in the background is “The Revolution Starts Now” by Steve Earle. This is the final track of Earle’s album of the same name, which released in 2004. The album received the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. In addition to his songwriting, Earle is also known for his political views, often advocating for changes to the system to foster greater inclusivity and equality. As such, his song is very fitting for the Season 2 trailer.
Next up in the trailer is Saw Gerrera, played once again by Forest Whitaker. Of note, Saw is wearing the exact same outfit he wears in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, also brandishing the same haircut. We suspect that Saw will feature in the final block of three episodes, leading right up into the events of Rogue One.
Genevieve O’Reilly returns as Mon Mothma. She plays a surprisingly small role in the trailer considering she was essentially the second main character in Season 1. Nonetheless, we suspect Mon will play a massive part in the second and (unfortunately) final season of Andor.
Also featuring fleetingly in the trailer is Stellan Skarsgård. The actor who played Luthen Rael can be seen wearing his wig here, meaning the character’s double life will likely continue to be explored in Season 2.
Bix Calleen features briefly in the trailer. Walking away from an explosion like a badass alongside Cassian Andor, Adria Arjona was an understated highlight of Season 1 (and has since featured in numerous incredible roles, such as Blink Twice and Hitman).
Below is the first of two shots of Ben Mendelsohn in the trailer. The Australian actor reprises his role as Director Orson Krennic from Rogue One in the new season.
In one of the trailer’s most ominous shots, the Death Star can be seen looming in the background. It is unclear to what extent (if any) the Death Star will play in the plot of Season 2, although the post-credits scene of Season 1 and Rogue One’s focus on the Imperial superweapon suggest it will play some role in Season 2.
The below shot seems to be on Yavin 4 and, if so, suggests that the rebel base is in some kind of danger in Season 2. Perhaps it is infiltrated by a member of the Empire? Or perhaps a traitor within the midst of the rebels is up to no good?
Fan favorite Brasso also makes his return in Season 2, as shown in the below shot from the trailer. He now sports a great beard!
The below shot of Imperial stormtroopers is unlike anything we’ve seen from Star Wars to date. The troopers do not wear helmets and have unusual black wrappings around their armor.
Denise Gough is back as the villainous ISB agent Dedra Meero. In the background of the shot, you can spot some more of those helmet-less stormtroopers walking around.
Mon Mothma can be seen dancing as some function in the trailer. For a character we’re so used to seeing having serious political discussions, this shot came as a bit of a shock. We wonder if Mon is actually letting loose here and having fun, or if she is playing some kind of role to keep up appearances.
Seeing a ship go through hyperspace never gets old.
K-2SO! One of the highlights of Rogue One was the witty, sassy droid played by Alan Tudyk, and thankfully his character is brought into the fold for Andor Season 2. It’ll be interesting to see how Season 2 balances the grounded, serious tone of the show with the more comedic inclinations of K-2SO.
Cassian gives what looks like Bix a hug in the below shot. This is taking place on the same field seen before, suggesting that, after Cassian destroyed the stormtrooper transport, he came down to embrace those he was rescuing. We think he was rescuing Bix and Wilmon Paak here.
One of Andor’s more complex characters Syril Karn returns this season, again played by Kyle Soller.
Below you can spot Melshi. This character first appeared in Rogue One and was also a prisoner alongside Cassian and Kino Loy in Andor Season 1.
Bix is seen struggling with an Imperial adversary in the below shot. From Celebration Europe footage, we know that the evil Dr. Gorst is back this season. Could this be Bix getting her revenge against the doctor who inflicted such torture upon her?
Syril’s mother Eedy (played by Kathryn Hunter) also returns in Season 2.
The trailer closes out with a sly smile from Cassian Andor. This shot likely mirrors the faces of many Star Wars fans right now as we eagerly anticipate the new season.
