New Video Game ‘Star Wars: Zero Company’ Unveiled

By George & Josh Bate

The world of Star Wars video games expanded at Star Wars Celebration Japan with the official unveiling of Star Wars: Zero Company.

The upcoming single-player-turn-based tactics game is developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. The game will arrive on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.

Described as a gritty and authentic original story, Star Wars: Zero Company is set during the twilight of the Clone Wars and follows a new character named Hawks, a former Republic officer now in charge of an elite squad of cunning operatives. Hawks must team up with this unconventional group to engage in a shadow war with a dangerous army threatening the galaxy. Some of the characters of this unconventional group include Trick (a clone soldier), Luco Bronc (an Umbaran sharpshooter), Cly Kullervo (an infamous Mandalorian gunslinger), and Tel (a Tognath Jedi Padawan).

Zero Company will draw influence from Andor, Rogue One, and A New Hope, according to Lucasfilm Games’ Executive Producer Orion Kellogg in an interview with StarWars.com. “This isn’t just a Clone Wars game,” Kellogg remarked. “This is a game in the Clone Wars, but from a new angle. This is really Bit Reactor’s vision. It’s their Star Wars story and we’re here to help them tell it. So you’re also going to see influence from the political intrigue of Andor; you’re going to see the gritty battles of Rogue One. You’re going to see the wit and wisdom of A New Hope. It’s a Star Wars game through and through.”

Like many Star Wars stories, found family will be a key theme in Zero Company. “This is a Star Wars game where you can really have a found family,” said Bit Reactor’s Game Director Greg Foertsch. You’re playing with multiple characters, leveling them up, building their relationships and their bonds. For me, ever since being a 4 year old seeing the original Star Wars in the theaters, it’s always been about found family. This is such a perfect combination for me as a developer and as a fan. I can’t wait for people to see and experience that.

Zero Company will take place on various planets, including Serolonis from The Bad Batch, Vandor from Solo, and Mapuzo from Obi-Wan Kenobi.
