As the summer winds down, Star Wars goes full steam ahead with a slew of exciting new releases this August.
Below includes a list and descriptions of every upcoming Star Wars project releasing in August 2025. It is important to note that all of these release dates are subject to change.
August 5 – Sanctuary: A Bad Batch Novel
The Bad Batch return in a novel novel from Random House Worlds and author Lamar Giles. Set during Season 2 of the hit Disney+ series, the novel follows Clone Force 99 as they take on a duo of dangerous missions.
The publisher’s summary is as follows: “Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, and Omega gamble on a mission to help rebuild Pabu in this thrilling adventure for The Bad Batch.
A good soldier knows that life is all about change — whether it’s on or off the battlefield. Surviving, living, means adaptation. Hunter is well acquainted with this lesson. Despite Hunter’s concern with Phee’s precarious plans, the rest of the crew is fine following her lead.
Things go wrong almost immediately, as Phee’s droid blows the crew’s cover at a high-stakes auction, and they barely make it out with the relic they’d been paid to acquire. Hunter insists they finish their first mission and deliver the relic before taking on more work, but Phee and the others push forward with a second job: ferrying a couple on the run, one of whom is due to give birth at any moment. Hunter worries what they’re risking, especially when their mysterious new passengers cling to lies and secrets that trace back to an Imperial Security Bureau officer hot on their trail.
As Hunter tries to get the crew back on a stable, safe path far, far away from anything to do with the Empire’s watchdogs, their overlapping missions only invite more danger and chaos. On the verge of failing both their desperate passengers and their community on Pabu, the Batch must remember that the only way they succeed, the only way they survive to fight another day, is by trusting each other.”
August 5 – Star Wars: I Find Your Lack of Candy Disturbing
Halloween comes early this year with a new spooky art book from a galaxy far, far away. The publisher’s summary for the Chronicle Books’ release is as follows: “May the Force boo with you! August 5 – Star Wars: Visions Treasury Edition
Ahead of Star Wars Visions Volume 3 releasing in October, fans of the acclaimed animated series can catch up on Marvel Comics’ one-shots based on the series with this new oversize treasury edition collecting Visions #1, Visions – Peach Momoko #1, Visions – Takashi Okazaki #1, and material from Darth Vader: Black, White & Red #1.

August 6 – Legacy of Vader 7
Kylo Ren faces off against one of the last Order 66 in the new issue of Charles Soule and Luke Ross’ comic series.

The mystery of a dead Jedi Knight unfolds in the latest issue of Marc Guggenheim’s Marvel Comics series.

August 19 – The Art of Star Wars: Outlaws
Concept art and commentary from the video game Star Wars Outlaws is compiled in this new art book from Dark Horse Books.

August 19 – The Art of Star Wars: The High Republic: Volume II
Another Star Wars art book also drops this August! Kristin Baver and Abrams Books team up for the second volume of an art book collecting pieces of concept art, sketches, and more from The High Republic.

August 19 – Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Volume 4 (Phase III)
The Battle of Eriadu and issues 14-16 of Daniel José Older’s Dark Horse Comics series are compiled in this new trade paperback collection.

August 20 – Star Wars (2025) 4
The mainline Star Wars comic series from author Alex Segura and artist Phil Noto continues this month with its fourth issue.

Marking its 10 year anniversary, all 12 issues of the 2015 Kanan comic are compiled in this new collection.
