Twenty-six years after Anakin Skywalker won the Boonta Eve Classic in The Phantom Menace, Star Wars fans have the chance to immerse themselves in the world of podracing in a new adventure.
Star Wars: Beyond Victory – A Mixed Reality Playset is a new mixed reality experience built by Industrial Light & Magic for the Meta Quest 3 and 3S. Today, the official release date was announced as October 7, 2025.

Beyond Victory features an original story set during the reign of the Empire amidst the dangerous world of podracing. The lead character is Volo Bolus, an ambitious four-armed pilot who was mentored by podracing legend Sebulba. Yes, Sebulba will make his long-awaited return in Beyond Victory. Also returning from The Phantom Menace is Fode, the podracing announcer. Sebulba will once again be voiced by Lewis MacLeod, while Greg Proops returns to provide the voice for Fode.
Other cast members for Beyond Victory include Bobby Moynihan (LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy), Fin Argus (Queer as Folk), and Lilimar Hernandez (Inside Out 2).
Beyond Victory will feature 3 distinct gameplay modes, which are detailed below.
- Adventure Mode: this is the primary narrative journey following lead character Volo Bolus. In addition to Sebulba and Fode, the story will also include Sebulba’s pink-haired business partner Luuda, Volo’s Aleena friend Deland Tyerell, a Twi’lek mechanic named Sornah, and Grakkus the Hutt from Star Wars comics.
- Arcade Mode: this mode “transforms the player’s physical space into a holotable-style racing arena where high-speed podraces are controlled from a top-down view. Each track features multiple paths to the finish line providing fast, replayable fun for fans of classic arcade gameplay.”
- Playset Mode: “invites players to unleash their creativity in a dynamic sandbox from a galaxy far, far away. Using unlockable digital action figures, including vehicles and iconic characters, populate your physical environment and stage your own Star Wars stories.”
