New Look at ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ Revealed

By George & Josh Bate

Director Shawn Levy has revealed a new look at his upcoming movie Star Wars: Starfighter.

On Instagram, Levy posed, “Somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea” with a picture of stars Ryan Gosling and Flynn Gray in costume. This is our best look yet at the two characters after a black-and-white behind the scenes picture was coupled with the announcement of production starting.

What can we glean from this picture? Well, Star Wars has filmed in the Mediterranean before, namely for Naboo in the prequel trilogy. Naboo has plenty of bodies of water, so could Star Wars: Starfighter take place on Naboo? It’s possible.

We can also see that Gosling’s costume is more casual fare worn by a smuggler or a pilot. The combo of the long-sleeve shirt and tight pants are reminiscent of Han Solo’s look from the original trilogy.

We’ll find out more about Star Wars: Starfighter when it hits theaters on May 28, 2027.
