Let’s breakdown some key details of The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer….
For starters, the Razor Crest is back! After being destroyed in Season 2, Din Djarin has got his hands on a new Razor Crest (or maybe a repaired version of his old ship). While we loved the N-1 Starfighter, we’re definitely happy to see Mando’s original ship return.

Also returning is Din Djarin’s Pulse Rifle. His key weapon in Seasons 1 and 2 was also destroyed in Chapter 14: The Tragedy, although the weapon seemingly lives to see another day here.
Sigourney Weaver’s Colonel Ward is given a first look in the trailer. She is a colonel of the New Republic who hires Din Djarin (and, in turn, Grogu) for an important mission.

After making his live-action debut in Season 3, Rebels fan favorite Zeb Orrelios is also back. You can catch him kick some ass in the trailer.
Also translating from animation to live-action is Rotta the Hutt (aka Stinky from The Clone Wars movie). It’s been a long time since the little Hutt appeared, but now he’s finally back….and much bigger. Rotta can be seen celebrating a win in a gladiator arena, which Din Djarin is later seen also fighting in. Reminder that Rotta will be voiced by The Bear actor Jeremy Allen White.

Some other cool hidden details in the trailer…
The creature below is an Amani. This species first appeared in Jabba’s Palace in Return of the Jedi.

Anzellans (the same species as Babu Frik from The Rise of Skywalker) are also back this time around. They humorously tell Grogu, “Good shot, baby” at the end of the trailer.

Also fighting in the gladiator arena are creatures from Dejarik (aka holochess) that have become larger than life.
As indicated by the ‘Forged for IMAX’ text at the end and the changing of aspect ratio in the trailer, The Mandalorian and Grogu will clearly take advantage of the premium viewing format of IMAX. The change in aspect ratio in the trailer reminded us of the aspect ratio changed when the Krayt Dragon appeared in Chapter 9: The Marshal.
The new logo at the end of the trailer is certainly different than previous logos we’ve seen for the movie. It seems more pulpy and comic book-like, as does the official poster.

Finally, in an official press release, Ludwig Göransson was finally confirmed to score the music for The Mandalorian and Grogu. His original theme for The Mandalorian remains iconic (we find ourselves humming it daily, to be honest).
The Mandalorian and Grogu is directed by Jon Favreau, who produces alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Ian Bryce.
