A year has passed since the final season of Andor concluded on Disney+ and treated viewers around the world with one of the most profound, powerful, epic, and deeply moving television series of all time. But the story of Cassian Andor has not ended quite yet. In addition to a new comic set in the sliver of time between Andor Season 2 and Rogue One, Diego Luna’s fan favorite Star Wars character is further explored in The Art of Star Wars: Andor by Phil Szostak, which is set to release next month.

Preview pages of The Art of Star Wars: Andor reveal that Tony Gilroy’s Star Wars series almost avoided committing its greatest sin: not having enough aliens.

The book features concept art of unused creatures and aliens, which, had they made their way into live-action, would have meant that Andor featured far more non-humans than we ultimately got. It’s a testament to the quality of Andor that the show’s biggest criticism is that it features too many human characters and not enough weird aliens and creatures, but seemingly the creative team behind the series, at least at one point, considered populating the show with more non-humans.

One of these non-humans was originally going to Avril Heert, Meero’s ISB assistant in Season 1 who is promoted to ISB Supervisor in Season 2. The Art of Star Wars: Andor reveals that the character played by Jacob James Beswick was originally a blue-skinned alien. Check out the picture below, courtesy of Polygon.

It is unclear if Heert was intended to be a member of Chiss species, the same species that fellow Imperial leader Grand Admiral Thrawn is a member of. Heert may also have originally been a Pantoran, the blue-skinned species that George Lucas’ character Baron Notluwiski Papanoida from Revenge of the Sith belongs to.
