While The Mandalorian and Grogu continues to play in theaters, everyone’s favorite father and son duo will return sooner than expected this summer.
This July, Mad Cave Studios, Papercutz, and Lucasfilm Publishing will release The Mandalorian and Grogu: Danger in the Dark. Described as “the first-ever original comic one-shot starring The Mandalorian duo Din Djarin and Grogu,” the comic from writer Delilah S. Dawson and illustrators Mario del Pennino and Arianna Florean will serve as a prequel to The Mandalorian and Grogu and take place after the events of Season 3.
The release of The Mandalorian and Grogu: Danger in the Dark is unique in that it marks the first time Din Djarin and Grogu have featured in an original, non-live action story. While the duo have appeared in the comic book adaptations of Seasons 1 and 2 of the hit Disney+ series, they have never appeared in an original novel, comic book, or graphic novel until now.
The publisher’s summary for the upcoming comic is as follows: “Papercutz is proud to present the first ever original comic one-shot starring The Mandalorian and Grogu! A hidden danger looms deep beneath the surface of Nevarro and it’s up to the Mandalorian and Grogu to stop it! Joined by a courageous crew of Anzellan friends, Din Djarin and his foundling venture into the lava tubes underneath the city to defuse a crashed pirate ship, facing creepy creatures and perilous obstacles along the way. But with the planet’s safety on the line, can Grogu learn to listen to Mando’s guidance? And can Mando balance teaching Grogu with letting the little guys lead? Don’t miss this high-energy story full of humor and heart!
