Some of the greatest Star Wars stories of all time have come in the form of novels and comic books, making any announcements or reveals of upcoming literary projects highly anticipated among fans of a galaxy far, far away.
Today, Lucasfilm Publishing hosted a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 in which authors provided behind-the-scenes insights, stories across multiple eras and frontiers were discussed, and a bunch of amazing announcements tease an exciting future for Star Wars books and comics.

Star Wars: Twin Crossroads
A new novel focusing on Luke and Leia in the aftermath of Return of the Jedi as they navigate the complicated legacies of their parents arrives next year from author Beth Revis and publisher Random House Worlds.
The publisher’s summary for Star Wars: Twin Crossroads is as follows: “After the events of Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa train together in the ways of the Jedi. The siblings must confront the legacies of their birth parents Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, and their own diverging futures in the Force.
The second Death Star is in ruins. As the burgeoning New Republic pursues scattered Imperial forces across the galaxy, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa train on the remote planet of Ajan Kloss and walk the path of the Jedi side-by-side.
During this reprieve from battle, the twins grow their connection to the Force and their own bond as they shoulder the responsibility of carrying on the Jedi Order’s legacy. But each also carries a burden they struggle to share with the other. Luke loves seeing his sister excel but doubts his teaching ability when there is still so much to discover and learn. Despite their doubts, Luke and Leia volunteer for an urgent covert New Republic mission to infiltrate the center of Imperial power: Coruscant.
Their quest begins at the Imperial palace, once the Jedi Temple, where they gain a new understanding of the former Jedi Order and Galactic Republic. The mission will be more transformative than either could imagine, as they discover the legacy left behind by their birth parents on a planet where some are still willing to hope. And though certainty is scarce, Luke and Leia’s faith in one another will help them each seek out the path they must ultimately walk.”
Star Wars: Twin Crossroads will be released on April 6, 2027.
Star Wars: A Celebration
Lucasfilm is going all out next year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Star Wars. As part of the celebrations, a new book from DK Publishing will provide fans with the essential history guide to a galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars: A Celebration does not currently have a confirmed release date.
Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium
One of the more unexpected announcements from the Lucasfilm Publishing panel came in the form of a new Indiana Jones comic series from Marvel Comics, writer Jason Aaron, and artist Aaron Kuder.
The publisher’s summary for Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium is as follows: “Fans who attended the Lucasfilm Publishing Panel at San Diego Comic-Con just witnessed one of the weekend’s biggest surprises! Following reveals for upcoming Marvel Star Wars titles, Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski announced that Indiana Jones returns to Marvel Comics this December in INDIANA JONES AND THE SWORD OF PANDEMONIUM, an all-new five-issue limited series from superstar writer Jason Aaron and acclaimed artist Aaron Kuder. The series kicks off an all-new era of comic book adventures for the iconic archaeologist set during the original groundbreaking films.
In the wake of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy’s most notorious villains, including the impossible return of an archenemy, seek a terrifying new source of power to recoup their loss—one that’s fallen into the hands of his former companion, Marion Ravenwood. Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium does not currently have a release date.
Star Wars: Tales from the Outer Rim, Vol. 1: The Legend of Beggar’s Canyon
Mad Cave Studios and author Greg Pak mastermind a new graphic novel about Luke Skywalker’s childhood on Tatooine.

Star Wars: Galactic Tales of Terror
Just in time for Halloween, Dark Horse Comics and author Cavan Scott deliver a thrilling collecion of horror stories from a galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars: A New Hope: Triple Take
It’s only fitting that the 50th anniversary of Star Wars will be commemorated with an exciting new take on George Lucas’ original film. That comes in the form of a new graphic novel from Mad Cave Studios and authors Kim Shearer and Chas! Pangburn.

Anthony Breznican and Insight Editions deliver a detailed history of Darth Vader in this new release, filled with concept art and exclusive interviews.

The Book of Boba Fett
The Book of Boba Fett will be adapted into a comic book series from Marvel Comics and author Rodney Barnes.

Kylo Ren returns in a new comic series from Marvel Comics and author Charles Soule.

Rogue One Comics
Marvel Comics continues to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story this year with one-shot Rogue One prequel comics. To date, one-shots focusing on Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, and Saw Gerrera have been released, with one-shots focused on Chirrut & Baze and Darth Vader arriving this October.
