September brings the release of three new The Mandalorian projects on Disney+, an Andor prequel novel, the return of The Book of Boba Fett, and more.
Below includes a list and descriptions of every upcoming Star Wars project releasing in August 2026. It is important to note that all of these release dates are subject to change.
September 1 – Hiding from the Dark
The first canon Star Wars novel to be officially dubbed “A Horror Novel” releases this month.
Written by Kiersten White and published by Random House Worlds, the publisher’s summary for the middle grade novel is as follows: “Explore the darkest corners of the Star Wars galaxy in this chilling horror-themed middle grade novel by New York Times bestselling author Kiersten White.
Pursued by Imperial forces, a young girl named Bia must flee her home planet of Coruscant and find her mother. All the time, she is hunted by a figure in black, a presence more horrifying than she has ever encountered before. Can Bia escape—and what does she have that the Empire wants so badly? Horror readers and Star Wars fans of all ages will thrill to this fright-filled middle grade novel.”
September 2 – LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian
The galaxy’s favorite father and son duo star in a new LEGO special debuting September 2 on Disney+. The story follows Din Djarin and Grogu as they join misfit allies for an epic party, celebrating their heroism. As friends regale the crowd with tales of their adventures, a pirate threat looms.
Although Pedro Pascal does not reprise his role as The Mandalorian (Gavin Hammon takes over), much of the cast from the original series are back to voice LEGO versions of their characters, including Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Emily Swallow as The Armorer, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto, Bill Burr as Migs Mayfeld, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth, and Taika Waititi as IG-11 / IG-12.
Carl Lumbly (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Doctor Sleep) takes over the role of Greef Karga following the passing of Carl Weathers.
Canadian voice actor Eric Bauza, meanwhile, voices Luke Skywalker. Bauza is known for voicing several Looney Tunes characters and has notable roles in Teen Titans Go!, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, and Muppet Babies.
September 2 – The Mandalorian and Grogu: Official Podcast
Also premiering on Disney+ on September 2 is Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu Official Podcast, which will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie. The podcast goes live at 9pm ET / 6pm Pt with episodes, “Growing Up” and “Bigger & Different.” This marks the first official Star Wars podcast commissioned by Disney and Lucasfilm.
The podcast will feature behind-the-scenes stories, cast and crew interviews, set secrets, creative insights into the production, and more.
September 2 – The Mandalorian and Grogu on Disney+
The latest Star Wars movie will make its streaming premiere on September 2 exclusively on Disney+ and is available to stream in IMAX Enhanced, which includes IMAX’s exclusive expanded aspect ratio.
Disney+ subscribers with certified TVs and AV receivers can also experience the film with IMAX Enhanced sound, powered by DTS:X.
September 8 – Star Wars: Poe Dameron Omnibus
A hardcover Marvel Omnibus collection of the entire 2016 Poe Dameron comic series is published by Marvel Comics this month.
The publisher’s summary is as follows: “The full comic-book saga of the heroic pilot of the Resistance!

September 9 – The Book of Boba Fett 1
Re-experience the events of The Book of Boba Fett in this new comic adaptation of the Disney+ series written by Rodney Barnes and illustrated by Will Sliney.
The publisher’s summary for the debut issue is as follows: “BOBA FETT HOLDS COURT AND FACES NEW CHALLENGES ON TATOOINE!
After escaping from the Sarlacc Pit, Boba Fett has taken over Jabba the Hutt’s syndicate—but does he have what it takes to keep Tatooine in order?”
September 9 – The High Republic Adventures – Pathfinders 5
The penultimate issue of Dark Horse Comics’ High Republic comic series hits shelves this month.
The publisher’s summary for the issue written by George Mann and illustrated by Vincenzo Riccardi, Jagdish Kumar, and Michael Atiyeh is as follows: “The mystery behind the Pathfinders’ plight is revealed!
From a listening post on a lonely asteroid, a Republic comms team scours galactic frequencies for vital transmissions. It’s routine work—that is, until the station’s two inhabitants begin to unravel in the far reaches of space. See their spine-tingling transformations unfold in this inventive flashback issue!”
September 15 – Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss
A follow-up to one of the best Star Wars books in recent years is available this month.
The publisher’s summary for Rebecca Roanhorse’s new novel is as follows: “In this thrilling sequel to The Mask of Fear, set one year before season one of Andor, truth becomes a weapon of the Empire.

September 16 – The Fall of Kylo Ren 2
Kylo Ren’s story between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker continues with the second issue of Charles Soule and Will Sliney’s new comic series.

September 22 – Star Wars: Quips and Comebacks
A new book from Chronicle Books allows fans to mix and match more than 150,000 zingers from a galaxy far, far away.

September 23 – The Book of Boba Fett 2
Another issue of the comic book adaptation of The Book of Boba Fett is scheduled to debut this month.

September 29 – Star Wars: Galactic Tales of Terror
Various Star Wars horror-themed comics from Tales from the Rancor Pit, Tales from the Death Star, and Star Wars: Tales From the Nightlands by Cavan Scott are compiled in this new collection.
