Scrapped ‘Star Wars’ Game Now Playable

When Disney purchased Lucasfilm and acquired Star Wars, the studio put an end to various projects in development, including a major video game that, 13 years later, has now resurfaced.

As revealed by Time Extension, Star Wars: First Assault is currently up and running online. For those unfamiliar with the game, First Assault was a multiplayer-focused Star Wars game that was canceled just months before its scheduled launch. Developed by LucasArts, the game was intended for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Footage of the game running on Xbox Live leaked in 2015.

Now, 13 years later, the game has been revived. Check out 76 minutes of gameplay below….

As you can see from the above footage, First Assault looks an awful lot like Star Wars: Battlefront, albeit with more of a Call of Duty tinge to it.
