August 11, 2026 will go down as a monumental day in the histories of two of the biggest franchises of all time are officially going to crossover.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Wars next year, Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm Publishing are teaming up for the first-ever crossover between Star Wars and Marvel in the form of an epic crossover comic series titled Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles.
Written by Kevin Smith and drawn by David Marquez, the comic crossover event will run for five issues and see Star Wars heroes like Luke, Han, and Leia team up with the Avengers and Spider-Man against Darth Vader, Doctor Doom, and the Galactic Empire.
The story of Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles will take place on Earth-616, where the Marvel Universe exists. A reality-shattering spell occurs on Earth that suddenly allows the heroes of the Marvel Universe to see the events of A New Hope unfold on Earth before their very eyes.
