A new leader of streaming wars has emerged. Disney+ added 14.4 million members worldwide in the third quarter, with Disney’s direct-to-consumer subscriber base, including Hulu and ESPN+, now at 221.1 million. This overtakes Netflix’s subscriber base of 220.7 million.

Disney also announced the addition of an ad-supported version of the streaming service. At $7.99 per month, the version with ads will launch on December 8.

Also on December 8, the ad-free version of Disney+ subscription will increase to $10.99 per month.

Next up on Disney+ is She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, premiering Thursday August 18.
