WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was a lot of fun, but no one expected the film’s wild ending and what it teases for the future of Transformers and Hasbro. Let’s breakdown the ending of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts...
The film concludes with the Autobots and Maximals coming out on top against Scourge and the Terrorcons, with the help of Anthony Ramos’ Noah Diaz and Dominique Fishback’s Elena Wallace. Bumblebee’s revival turned the tiding of the battle, which saw Optimus Prime kill Scourge and Unicron’s arrival thwarted as the Transwarp Key was deactivated.

In the aftermath of the final battle, Noah is attending another job interview, this time for what seems to be a security guard position. Noah is interviewed by a character played by House of Cards‘ Michael Kelly, who soon reveals that he knows what Noah did in aiding the Autobots in the conflict in Peru.
The mysterious man suggests that Noah join his organization, but Noah seems reluctant. It’s at this point that the man presses a button, which reveals the office is actually part of a massive hanger bay. The man gives Noah his car, which features the words ‘G.I. Joe’ and the series’ iconic logo.

What does this imply for the future of Transformers? Well, it looks like there’s a Hasbro Cinematic Universe on the way. G.I. Joe has seen mixed results on the big screen, but there remains great love for the classic characters and their stories. Their reintroduction via a Transformers film comes as a massive surprise and suggests that a Transformers x G.I. Joe crossover could be in the works. At the very least, the ending seems to confirm that G.I. Joe will be returning to the big screen in one way or another.
