Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist, and Wicked came away with the most nominations for the 97th Academy Awards. Announced by Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang on Thursday 1/23, the Oscar nominations preview a competitve race ahead of the March ceremony.
Emilia Pérez topped the bunch with 13 nominations, while The Brutalist and Wicked came next with 10 nominations each.
It was also a big day for horror fans as the body horror phenomenon The Substance earned a coveted Best Picture nomination.
We want to also give a special shoutout to Sebastian Stan for earning a nomination for his performance as Donald Trump in The Apprentice. Stan has been vastly overlooked during this awards season so far, although a Golden Globes win and other nominations show that the actor is finally getting the attention he deserves for what is a truly incredible performance.
