After April brought a whole host of exciting reveals at Star Wars Celebration Japan and a brand new season of Andor, Star Wars appears no signs of slowing down in May 2025. A new animated series and plus more episodes of Andor accompany loads of exciting comics and books from a galaxy far, far away.
Below includes a list and descriptions of every upcoming Star Wars projects releasing in May 2025. It is important to note that all of these release dates are subject to change.
May 3 – Free Comic Book Day 2025: Star Wars 1
Charles Soule, Alex Segura, and Marc Guggenheim team up to deliver three new stories in this Free Comic Book Day special. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “CELEBRATING THE NEW ERA OF STAR WARS COMICS! LUKE SKYWALKER finds himself in a wretched hive of scum and villainy facing off against pirates! JEDI KNIGHTS QUI-GON JINN & TENSU RUN are on the hunt for the villainous CORLIS RATH! Who is the mysterious VANEE and what is his connection to DARTH VADER & KYLO REN?”
May 3 – Free Comic Book Day 2025: All Ages
Go to your local comic shop and pick up a free copy of a new story featuring characters from the animated series Young Jedi Adventures. Written by Dave Scheidt with illustrations from Andy Duggan and Dan Jackson, the Dark Horse Comics title follows Kai, Nubs, and Lys as they travel to a mysterious swamp, where Master Yoda has set up an elaborate scavenger hunt.
May 4 – Tales of the Underworld
Following Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, another Tales of the… series debuts this month on Disney+. Tales of the Underworld features six shorts – three about Asajj Ventress and three about Cad Bane. We had a chance to watch the first episode of the series at Star Wars Celebration Japan and found it to be emotional, riveting, and revelatory.
May 6 – Andor Season 2 Episodes 7-9

May 6 – The Acolyte: Wayseeker
Despite its unfortunate cancelation, The Acolyte lives on through a number of books releasing in 2025. The first of these books is The Acolyte: Wayseeker, a prequel novel focusing on Vernestra Rwoh and Indara written by Justina Ireland.
The publisher’s summary is as follows: “Decades before Star Wars: The Acolyte, Vernestra Rwoh must rediscover her place within the Jedi Order.
Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh has spent years exploring the Outer Rim as a Wayseeker, answering to no authority but the Force itself. When the Jedi Council orders her to return to Coruscant, Vernestra ignores the summons, feeling that her priority is the beings she’s already serving.

May 6 – The High Republic: A Valiant Vow
Justina Ireland has two books set during the High Republic era release on May 6. Here is the publisher’s summary for A Valiant Vow: “The New York Times best-selling series comes to an epic conclusion in this final installment of this wave of High Republic storytelling.
It’s all been leading to this! Fan-favorite Padawans and younglings must team-up to stop the seemingly unstoppable blight all while dealing with technological terrors in the form of crab-like scav droids that destroy everything in their path!”
May 6 – Star Wars: Ahsoka — Season One
Relive the first season of Ahsoka with this comic adaptation by Rodney Barnes. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “The official Marvel Comics adaptation of the hit AHSOKA Disney+ series!
Former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano investigates an emerging threat to the New Republic! As a valuable prisoner escapes custody, the search for answers reunites two old friends. The villainous Morgan Elsbeth returns along with two new mysterious Force users, Baylan Skoll and his apprentice, Shin Hati. May 6 – Star Wars: Darth Maul – Black, White & Red Treasury Edition
All four issues of the comic series Darth Maul – Black, White & Red are collected in this new trade paperback this month. The publisher’s summary is as follows: “The Star Wars’ most popular villains, Darth Maul, gets his own entry in Marvel’s smash hit monochrome anthology!

May 7 – Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents 3
The Bad Batch return for another adventure set during the Clone Wars. Written by Michael Moreci and illustrated by Reese Hannigan, Elisabetta D’Amico, and Michael Atiyeh, the third issue of this Dark Horse Comics series hits shelves on May 7.
The publisher’s summary is as follows: “After a daring operation on the planet Kessel, the Bad Batch have caught up with the masked thief who stole vital intel from Coruscant. But be careful what you wish for, clones! Because this burglar is no ordinary crook: they are a dark side Force user who wields a lightsaber with deadly precision. May 7 – Star Wars (2025) 1
A new era of Star Wars comics begins this May with the launch of Alex Segura’s revamped main line series.

May 13 – Andor Season 2 Episodes 10-12
Andor comes to an end on May 13, with the release of the final three episodes.
May 13 – The High Republic: Tempest Breaker (script)
The script for Cavan Scott’s audio drama about Lourna Dee debuts this month from Random House Worlds.
The publisher’s summary is as follows: “The Jedi reluctantly team up with the nefarious Lourna Dee in this full script for the Star Wars the High Republic audiobook original, Tempest Breaker.

May 15 – Star Wars Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune
Kay Vess and Nix meet Hondo Ohnaka in A Pirate’s Fortune, the second story pack for Star Wars Outlaws.
May 20 – Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Volume 3 (Phase III)
The High Republic Wedding Spectacular and issues 11-13 of The High Republic Adventures are collected in this new trade paperback.
The publisher’s summary is as follows: “Collects the thrilling third arc of the High Republic Adventures Phase III, detailing our heroes’ continued fight against the Nihil and the marriage of Lula and Zeen!

Kylo Ren’s exploration of his grandfather Anakin Skywalker continues in the fourth issue of Charles Soule’s comic series.
