What a last year for Paramount Pictures. The second-oldest American film studio, which has faced scrutiny for its hostile takeover bid of Warner Bros. Discovery, arrives at CinemaCon 2026 swirling in controversy. As CinemaCon is an event that champions the theatrical experience and Paramount’s possible acquisition of Warner Bros. poses potential threats to theatrical distribution, needless to say Paramount’s presentation this year was bound to be an interesting and even tense display of the studio’s commitment to moviegoing.
Indeed, CEO of Paramount Skydance David Ellison , alongside Paramount Pictures heads Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg were quick to assert their studio’s plan for continued theatrical releases and, to do so, showcased the likes of Scary Movie, Jackass: Best and Last, Street Fighter, and The Angry Birds Movie 3 to do so. Remarkably, Ellison committed to releasing 30 films each year following the Paramount-Warner merger.

Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour Live in 3D
“This is not a concert movie for streaming.” That’s how James Cameron described Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour Live in 3D, a game-changing concert film co-directed by and starring global superstar Billie Eilish.
Cameron discussed how the film used a “new generation of 3D camera systems never used before, including on the Avatar films.” Cameron used extremely long lens that allowed him to shoot Eilish on stage from the back of stadiums.
Eilish explained that the film will give all fans “a VIP experience.” Cameron compared watching the film to not just being live watching Eilish performance, but actually being on the stage with her.
Cameron and Eilish presented exclusive footage of the film to the CinemaCon crowd (in 3D!).
Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour Live in 3D is in theaters May 8, 2026.
Scary Movie
Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Anna Faris walked on stage at CinemaCon 2026 to talk about the first installment in the Scary Movie franchise since 2013.
“We’d like to apologize to a few people that may or may not get their feelings hurt,” said Marlon Wayans. He pulled out a whole massive list of the people they’re going to make fun of, including white people, black people, the two politicians not in the Epstein files, the entire state of Vermont, Diddy, Diddy’s cleaner, baby oil, fat kids, stoners, and more.
The trio proudly announced that the R-rated comedy is alive and well with their new film. “Maybe what we all need is a good laugh,” says Faris.
The Wayans joked about the franchise being “taken from them” after Scary Movie 2. Faris, in typical Cindy Campbell fashion, replied, “Whitey’s something else.”
A special look at the film was showcased exclusively to the CinemaCon crowd. The main films that seem to be parodied are Scream, Longlegs, Weapons, Smile, Get Out, Sinners, and The Substance. The footage began with a parody of the Get Out hypnotism scene with Marlon Wayans being hypnotized by Ghostface. As he floats into another dimension, Wayans screams, “I’m high as fuck!”
Later on, we see trick-or-treaters accidentally get into a stash of drugs, shout “6-7,” and then run outside in the middle of the night like the kids from Weapons. Anna Faris smacks a guy with a massive smile on his face, a parody of the movie Smile, only to find out that he is a harmless patient in a mental facility. There’s also a bit more of a Sinners parody as the three musicians come to the door of Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Regina Hall.
Scary Movie is in theaters June 5, 2026.
Jackass: Best and Last
The architect of self-destruction Johnny Knoxville unveiled the first trailer of Jackass: Best and Last, the franchise’s fifth and final installment, to the CinemaCon crowd.
“We went extra hard to make this the best Jackass film ever,” Knoxville said.
The footage teases that the upcoming adventure is the “last and best Jackass film ever.” The film will feature both footage from the previous movies and new slapstick stunts. One of these new stunts involves a robot named Larry, who prepares to perform a robotic prostate exam on Steve-O.
Jackass: Best and Last is in theaters June 26.
Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie
A new trailer for Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie was presented during Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation.
This is the third Paw Patrol film and a sequel to 2023’s Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie.
The ensemble cast includes Carter Young, Mckenna Grace, Terry Crews, Meredith MacNeill, Ron Pardo, Jennifer Hudson, Hayden Chemberlen, Fortune Feimster, Jameela Jamil, Rain Janjua, Bill Nye, Paris Hilton, Lucien Duncan-Reid, William Desrosiers, Nylan Parthipan, Snoop Dogg, and Henry Bolan.
Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie is in theaters August 14, 2026.
The Angry Birds Movie 3
Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three aren’t the only movies hitting theaters this December. Arriving two days before Christmas is the third installment of the Angry Birds movie franchise.
The film will once again follow Jason Sudeikis’ Red. This time around he is tasked with his biggest job yet: take care of his son.
A new trailer was shown to the crowd at The Dolby Colosseum.
The Angry Birds Movie 3 is in theaters December 23, 2026.
Street Fighter
Paramount followed the public release of the new trailer for Street Fighter with an ambitious presentation at CinemaCon.
Cast members Noah Centineo, 50 Cent, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Eric André, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes (in costume), David Dastamalcian, Rayna Vallandingham, Andrew Schultz, Olivier Richters, and Vidyut were all in attendance and arrived on stage one-by-one. They were all brought on the stage in Street Fighter fashion, either by legendary ring announcer Bruce Buffer or comedian Eric Andre, who plays Don Sauvage in the film.

A Quiet Place Part III
John Krasinski appeared in a pre-recorded message to inform the CinemaCon crowd that pre-production is actively underway for A Quiet Place Part III.
Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe all reprise their roles from the previous films.
Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brian join the cast.
A Quiet Place Part III is in theaters July 30, 2027.
Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story
Super Bowl winner Phil Simms came to CinemaCon to introduce Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story.
THe film tells the true stor of John Tuggle, a football player who was the ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ of the 1983 NFL draft, meaning he was the lat player chosen in the last round. Much to the urprise of many, Tuggle ended up having a lastng impact on his team.
Playing John Tuggle is David Corenswet. The Superman actor recorded a message for the CinemaCon crowd in which he spoke about not knowing who Tuggle was origianlly but eventually coming to admire him, despite being from Philiadelphia.
Exclusive footage from the film was shown to the Las Vegas crowd. Corenswet plays Tuggle with such likability and bears a resemblance to the NFL player.
Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story is in theaters Deember 25, 2026.
Heart of the Beast
Brad Pitt’s new survival thriller from diector David Ayer launched a first trailer at CinemaCon 2026.
Co-starring J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe, Heart of the Beast folows a former Army Special Forces soldiers who has to fight for survival in the Alaskan wilderness alongside his combat dog after their plane crashes.
The trailer effectively conveys the close bond between Pitt and the dog. The rescue one another on a number of occasions in the trailer alone. Touchingly, Pitt says at one point to the dog, “I’m not going to let you die out here.”
Heart of the Beast does not currently have an official release date.
K-Pop Superstar: The Movie
After last year’s smash hit success of KPop Demon Hunters, Hollywood is cashing in on the KPop love. This starts with K-Pop Superstar: The Movie, starring KPop Demon Hunters actress Yoo Jiyoung.
A first trailer was shown to the CinemaCon crowd. The film follows a Korean-American woman who defies her family’s wishes by traveling to South Korea to compete in a reality TV show in search for the next big K-pop group.
K-Pop Superstar: The Movie will be the first major American studio film shot enitrely in South Korea.
K-Pop Superstar: The Movie is in theaters February 12, 2027.
Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol
Ti West is known for horror movies like X and The House of the Devil, but the acclaimed filmmaker departs from his usual fare by adapting Charles Dickens’ classic novella A Christmas Carol.
West appeared at CinemaCon via a pre-recorded video speaking about his enduring adoration for Dickens’ story and attributes his initial love for horror to the story of Ebenezer Scrooge.
Johnny Depp then arrived on stage to a rousing reception from the CinemaCon crowd. “When I was approached by Ti West, my first thought was, there’s no one who can do it as good as Alastair Sim did in the ’30s or whatever,” Depp said. “It’s a magical performance. But then I thought that’s no reason not to attempt something…I think Ti really did something very special.”
Depp said that it was “an extraordinary privilege to step into a story I have been obsessed with since I was a little child.”
A first trailer for the film was shown at CinemaCon and featured a tagline promising a “bold new twist” on the classic tale. Interestingly, the footage that unfolded previewed a rather conventional adaptation of A Christmas Carol. There’s certainly some horror visuals and moments, but nothing in the trailer would suggest tha this is a radical departure from what we’ve seen from Scrooge stories in the past. That being said, it’s great to see Depp on the big screen again and playing such an iconic role. He seems to have had a great time leaning into the humor of Ebenezer.
Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol is in theaters November 13, 2026.
Children of Blood and Bone
Gina Prince-Bythwood and the cast of Children of Blood and Bone took the stage at The Dolby Colosseum to speak about their upcoming Paramount movie.
Based on the best-selling YA novel by Tomi Adeyemi, the movie takes place in a fantastical kingdom and follows a yong woman (Thuso Mbedu) as she tries to reclaim the magical powers that were taken from her people.
Mbedu is joined by an all-star cast, which includes Damson Idris, Amandla Stenberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Regina King.
The first trailer for the film teased plenty of action in a movie that also co-stars Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, and Idris Elba.
Children of Blood and Bone is in theaters January 15, 2027.
Call of Duty
Peter Berg will direct and co-write a live-action Call of Duty movie. Taylor Sheridan will write the film alongside Berg.
“We’re only going to make a movie if it’s right,” said the head of Activision. “I truly believe we have something spectacular for summer 2028.”
“We want to make sure the authenticity of it is captured on a very real level, and yet infuse that with really big scope,” says director Peter Berg.
It is currently unclear if the movie will adapt the events of Modern Warfare, Black Ops, or tell an entirely original story.
Call of Duty is in theaters June 30, 2028.
Star Trek
Paramount has been active with their Star Trek projects in recent years, but it’s been since Star Wars Beyond that the franchise was on the big screen.
That will soon change as Paramount are actively working on a new theatrically released Star Trek film.
Chris Pine recently expressed confusion as to whether he will return as Captain Kirk or if the movie will represent a different direction for the franchise.
Star Trek does not currently have a release date.
Transformers
Paramount are also working on a fresh update for the Transformers franchise.
Recent trade reported circulated that Michael Bay will return to the franchise after helming five live-action Transformers movies.
Transformers does not currently have an official release date.
Top Gun 3
The screenplay for the sequel to Top Gun: Maverick is currently being written, according to Paramount.
Tom Cruise will return in the leading role. Jerry Bruckheimer will once again produce.
Top Gun 3 does not currently have an official release date.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Jeff Rowe presented a pre-recorded video to the CinemaCon crowd to talk about the sequel to their film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
Shredder and X will officially appear in the film.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Mutant Mayhem is in theaters August 13, 2027.
G.I. Joe
Paramount is actively developing a G.I. Joe movie. Details on the project are currently under wraps.
A G.I. Joe x Transformers crossover movie was reportedly in development after such a project was teased in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The project mentioned at CinemaCon 2026, however, appears to not feature Autobots or Decepticons.
G.I. Joe does not currently have an official release date.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4
The fourth installment in the global box office smash hit franchise was showcased at Paramount’s presentation.
A world exclusive first trailer was shown to the CinemaCon crowd. The trailer was brief, but suggests that Sonic and his hedgehogs ally with Jim Carrey’s villainous Dr. Robotnik. This marks a surprising turn of events given that Robotnik has been the primary antagonist for the previous three films.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 features returning cast members Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, Keanu Reeves as Shadow, James Marsden as Tom, Tika Sumpter as Maddie, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, and Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone. Ben Kingsley, Kristen Bell, Matt Berry, Nick Offerman, and Richard Ayoade join the cast.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is in theaters March 19, 2027.
Longlegs 2
Paramount confirmed this week’s trade reports that they are overseeing the release of a sequel to Longlegs.
The mammoth hit for NEON reportedly moved to Paramount due to budget issues.
Nicolas Cage will reprise his role as Longlegs. Oz Perkins is once again writing and directing.
Longlegs 2 does not currently have an official release date.
Get Lite
Teyana Taylor will make her directorial debut next spring in Paramount’s Get Lite.
The film was described as a dance epic akin to Footloose and Flashdance. Storm Reid will star and produce the movie.
Get Lite is in theaters April 9, 2027.
The Naughty List
Robert Rodriguez will return to family movies with his first ever animated film.
The Naughty List is an original Christmas film developed by Paramount Animation based on a concept that Rodriguez has developed for over a decade.
The Naughty List does not currently have an official release date.
High Side
Timothée Chalamet and director James Mangold are reuniting for a high-octane motorcross heist thriller that has been described by some as Heat meets Hell or High Water.
High Side does not currently have an official release date.
World War Z 2
Discussions about a sequel to World War Z have circulated for over a decade now, but Paramount unexpectedly confirmed that they are still committed to making a sequel to the hit zombie flick.
It is unclear if Brad Pitt is still attached.
