The first reactions to Toy Story 5 are flooding in following yesterday’s world premiere and are teasing a “lovely film” that delivers “everything you could possibly want from a Toy Story movie.”
In our social media reaction, we described the new Pixar film as is “sweet, clever, funny, [and] heartwarming,” while noting that it “beautifully taps into themes from Toy Story 3 to tell a simultaneously timely & timeless story.”
Entertainment journalist and film critic Scott Menzel remarked that the film is “a wonderfully heartfelt return to form for Pixar Animation Studios and a reminder of why the Toy Story franchise remains one of the greatest film series ever made.”
Daniel Baptista of The Movie Podcast described the movie as a “generation-defining experience.” Meredith Loftus of Collider even compared the film’s quality to Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3.
