Marvel Studios had Hall H rocking at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 with a panel full of jaw-dropping announcements, stunning footage, and some of the biggest names in the film industry.

Ghost Rider
The biggest shock of the panel came early on in the form of the announcement that Marvel Studios is developing a new Ghost Rider movie.
Ryan Gosling arrived on stage, fittingly dressed in a red shirt, to announce that he will play Johnny Blaze / Ghost Rider in the upcoming movie.
“There’s only one director who could do it,” Gosling said. After this statement, Shawn Levy joined Gosling on stage to announce that he will direct the movie. This announcement means that Levy and Gosling are re-teaming for another movie after collaborating together on Star Wars: Starfighter. The duo will headline massive movies in the Star Wars and Marvel franchises in back-to-back years as Ghost Rider is due to hit theaters in 2028.
Kevin Feige remarked, “I have been lucky enough to see Star Wars: Starfighter and, as a Star Wars nerd (I’m a bigger Star Wars nerd than Marvel nerd. Is that true? No it’s not), it’s awesome… It gives me all the Star Wars feels and brings a fresh new thing to it. And I can’t wait for you to see it.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Jon Bernthal came on the Hall H stage to talk Spider-Man: Brand New Day and present exclusive new footage from the film ahead of its July 31 release date.
The footage showed Frank Castle throw a grenade at Smart Hulk. He catches it and says, “Really?” The grenade blows up and Hulk is thrown around. Peter and Frank are seen bickering back and forth. Frank makes a comment about Peter blushing around MJ, which is funny as Peter is wearing his Spider-Man mask at the time of this comment.
Avengers: Endgame Encore
The upcoming re-release of Avengers: Endgame was briefly discussed during the panel.
Hitting theaters on September 25, Avengers: Endgame Encore will feature new footage that connects directly to the events of Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday
Anyone walking the halls of San Diego Convention Center this week will immediately know that Avengers: Doomsday has a massive presence at this year’s convention. So, it felt inevitable that new footage and reveals from the upcoming MCU team-up movie would occur during Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel. And, rest assured, Kevin Feige and company exceeded expectations.
A number of cast members from Avengers: Doomsday walked on stage to rousing reception from the crowd. The initial cast members were came on stage included: Winston Duke (M’Baku), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man / Scott Lang), Anthony Mackie (Captain America / Sam Wilson), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres), Tenoch Huerta Mejía (Namor), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Rebecca Romijin (Mystique), James Marsden (Scott Summers / Cyclops), Lewis Pullman (Bob Reynolds / The Void), David Harbour (Red Guardian), and Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost).
Interestingly, the actors stood in front of two massive silver logos, one of which was for the Avengers and the other of which was for X-Men. It really feels like Avengers: Doomsday is gearing up to be an Avengers vs. X-Men movie.
The one new casting announcement for Avengers: Doomsday then occurred as Hayley Atwell walked on stage and announced her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is unclear which version of Peggy Carter that Atwell will play, but, based on comments previously made by the Russo Brothers, it is a safe assumption that she will play the Peggy Carter seen at the end of Avengers: Endgame (and possibly other variants of the character).
At this point, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, the Russo Brothers, and, eventually, Robert Downey Jr. were all on stage to talk Avengers: Doomsday. Downey Jr. was wearing a particularly cool suit, which appeared to have Doctor Doom runes on it.
The Doomsday crew welcomed questions from the Hall H crowd, who were then treated to another surprise. Ryan Reynolds, dressed in a gray Deadpool costume, asked a couple questions. He asked Paul Rudd, “Where is Thor and why was he crying?” Rudd replied, “He’s a Wrexham fan?” Reynolds also asked if he could have a role in the film, inquiring, “So there’s no additional photography?” However, there was no official confirmation that Deadpool would appear in the film.
Exclusive footage from Avengers: Doomsday was then shown to the crowd. Keep reading for a description of the footage…..
The footage begins with a shot of Doom sitting on his throne. The floor below him is green. Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm proceeds to narrate the footage. “He was always the smartest guy in every room,” Sue says. “He used to be different. Used to be kind. Used to be caring. Everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but I did not realize he was broken.” This confirms that Victor Von Doom is from the same universe as the Fantastic Four and had pre-existing relationships with Sue and Reed.
Sue is shown speaking to a group of heroes, including members of both the Avengers and X-Men.
Doom looks longingly at an image of his child and wife, similar to the recently released poster for the film.
Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards is shown shouts at Doom, “Answer me, Victor! Did you do this?!”
We catch new glimpses of Johnny Storm holding Franklin Richards, Thor with his daughter Love, Shuri in Wakanda, and Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.
Reed is then show shouting at Doom again, “Did you do this?!” He is on his knees in front of Doom as he says this.
Additional shots of Thor charging at Doom with Stormbreaker are shown. Thor tells Doom, “I swear you will wish for hell long before I grant it.” Doom uses some kind of green magic to effortlessly blast Thor away from him.
The footage concludes as Doom places his hand on the ground and brings to life a group of massive of Sentinels. Downey Jr., speaking in the accent he had in the recently released trailer, says, “You’ve all been living stolen lives…. Now is the time to give them back.” This seemingly confirms the rumors that Doom’s motivation in the film will be to avenge his dead wife and son, who were killed when the Avengers altered the timeline in Avengers: Endgame.

VisionQuest
VisionQuest was the only upcoming MCU series discussed during the panel.
Kevin Feige stated that VisionQuest marks the end of Wanda Maximoff’s trilogy, which presumably began with WandaVision and continued with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
No footage from VisionQuest was shown during the panel.
Black Panther III
To conclude the panel, Kevin Feige welcomed Ryan Coogler on stage to officially announce that Black Panther III is in development and will hit theaters on December 15, 2028.
Letitia Wright was on stage, confirming that she will reprise her role as Shuri in the film.
Much speculation regarding whether Black Panther will be recast in the MCU was finally answered during the panel as David Jonsson (The Long Walk, Alien: Romulus) walked on stage and confirmed that he will play T’Challa’s son in Black Panther III. Johnsson remarked, “Thank you, Ryan. Thank you, Kevin. Thank you to this amazing family that I have the privilege and blessing to join….Believe me, the honor is entirely mine. Thank you.”
Coogler also revealed that Black Panther III will be largely shot on celluloid film, rather than digital.
