After Sadie Sink surprised (or perhaps didn’t really surprise) audiences last month by making her debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it only felt like a matter of time until Marvel Studios announced more cast members of its upcoming X-Men movie. And, at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige did exactly that.

Sadie Sink was the first to arrive on stage, confirming what everyone knew already – that she would reprise her role as Jean Grey in X-Men.

Next on stage was Kit Connor (Heartstopper, Warfare), who was confirmed to play Cyclops / Scott Summers after immense speculation for the past few weeks.

Fittingly, Connor then found himself sandwiched between Jean Grey and Emma Frost as the latter was confirmed to be played by Samara Weaving (Ready or Not, Babylon).

The first of three big shock casting announcements that unfolded. Christopher Abbott (Wolf Man, Poor Things) came on stage and was confirmed to play the MCU’s version of Professor X / Charles Xavier.

Abbott was then followed by Inde Navarette. The breakout star from 2026’s horror hit Obsession will play Rogue in X-Men. This news comes weeks after Navarette confirmed she met director Jake Schrier about a potential role and expressed her love for the character of Mystique.

Last up on stage was Maya Boyd, who will take over the role of Storm from acting legend Halle Berry. X-Men will be Boyd’s first movie after she performed in the Broadway productions of Merrily We Roll Along and & Juliet.

But that wasn’t everything.

A video started playing on screen, which revealed that Kylo Ren himself Adam Driver would join the cast of the film. He spoke about his numerous conversations with Kevin Feige over the years about joining the MCU and how no role felt like it was right until now. Driver joked that he plays Magneto in the film, before revealing that he will play Mister Sinister / Dr. Nathanial Essex.

There are still a number of major X-Men yet to be officially announced. Magneto, Wolverine, Beast, Iceman, and Gambit are just a few who Marvel Studios are bound to unveil in the coming months. Check out some of our fan-castings for the remaining X-Men below….
