The year’s most anticipated movie took the spotlight during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event.
To discuss Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige brought out stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Hayley Atwell to talk about the movie and present a brand new trailer.
“Now, we know that there’s nothing this crowd loves more than a happy ever after,” said Atwell, reflecting on the touching ending of Avengers: Endgame which saw Steve and Peggy finally begin a life together. Evans replied, however, “We should’ve known better.”

A video message from Hugh Jackman then popped up on the screen. In a fun little bit, Jackman exchanges blows with an off-screen Ryan Reynolds about vying for a role in Avengers: Doomsday. The clip confirmed that Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming film and heavily hinted that Reynolds will join him as Deadpool.
The quartet on stage then presented a trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. This was the same trailer that was shown to the Hall H crowd at San Diego Comic-Con last month. Check out the trailer below….

Even more so than the first trailer, this new special look at Avengers: Doomsday brilliantly and succinctly captures the threat Doctor Doom poses. The music is foreboding, Doom swats away Earth’s mightiest heroes with ease, and Sue Storm’s narration about how “broken” Downey Jr.’s character is does enough to send chills down your spine. Needless to say, December can’t come soon enough.
